But once we started chatting more, he and I found commonality in hunting, woodwork, military relationships, German heritage, etc. He was slightly stand-off ish initially, thinking we were uninterested. The tour bus was just leaving, so we had the shop to ourselves. We took the chance and drove 10 minutes down the hill to his main store. We were nicely greated at his shop in Triberg, and were told to avoid his main store in Hornberg because he would likely have a tour bus visiting. Drove through Triberg, and had read reports of vendors/stores/cities. So I will go back anytime I am in the area on a trip and just think they are the absolute BEST!ĭrove from Lindau to Rothenberg ob Tauber, but had to venture to the black forest region for a clock. Way better than having someone local who does not know the clocks like they do. I was so happy with their service on that too! They respond to your emails and try to help you first but last ditch you can ship it back and that charge was not very much. And if you ever have a problem with the clock-which we had bought one 7 years earlier they have you ship it back to them to repair and the cost for the repair was nominal and they ship it home to you once again. When you are leaving if in a group they all come out and wave goodbye and the owner gives you the recipe for the black forest cake. Then off to the Black Forest Cake cafe upstairs where you are given a slice! Wonderful. They will ship back to the states and the deal they offer you is way better than buying online. They greet you with the magical cuckoo clock building and have lots of folks to help you or let you wander around looking at all the wonderful clocks. These folks are fantastic! The visit you will have there is first class from start to finish.
